What does “You got named” mean?
It means an AI engine now names your business for a question where it didn't before, and it did so on 2 weekly checks in a row. We wait for the second check because AI answers vary, and one lucky answer isn't proof.
A win is one question on one engine, for one market. For example: ChatGPT Search didn't name you for "best furnace repair in Toronto" on an earlier check, and has now named you on 2 checks in a row. We keep both answers, dated, with the sources they cited, so you can see the before and after for yourself.
Why 2 checks in a row
The same question can get a different answer an hour later. If we celebrated every first mention, some of those "wins" would vanish the next week. So a first mention shows as "Named once, confirming next check", and it only becomes a win when the next check names you too. The cost is about a week's wait; the benefit is that a win means something.
The same rule works the other way: a single miss after a mention shows as "Varies", not a loss. A drop only counts after 2 checks in a row without you. See Named in X of Y checks.
Where you see it
- The "You got named" card on your dashboard, with the newest win and the answers before and after, side by side.
- The Wins timeline on your dashboard, with every win so far.
- An email ("ChatGPT Search now recommends you for ...") after the confirming check, if you get emails from us.
Good to know
- A win is counted once per question, engine and market. Losing it and getting it back later isn't a second win.
- If you were always named for a question, there's no win to show: nothing changed.
- The card may show the last fix you marked done before the win. That's a timeline, not proof the fix caused it: AI tools don't say why they changed an answer.
- Weekly checks are part of the paid plans, so wins need a paid plan.
